At the currently rate of WU consumption you will process all 1,800 remaining galaxies by next Tuesday. Basically you've quadrupled the throughput.

Unfortunately I don't have any more prepared. So we might have to redo some of the old data.

The amount of power out there is quite staggering isn't it.

It's these sort of results driven by friendly community based challenges that really shows the benefits of using BOINC.

I hope these events encourage people to continue to crunch POGS.

Now...Time to find some more CPUs to crunch with!

G'day Kevin,
Some time ago, SETI reissued old work and it caused quite a stink once the volunteers found out. If there is a reason work needs to be done again, I think, people would be more than happy to redo it but less so if it's just for the sake of keeping computers ticking over.

By the way, I'm impressed with the way this project is run and the quick responses we get from the admins. Thanks for the work your mob does.

Cheers,

Mike

We're generating new galaxies images - so no worries.

The reason we respond quickly is we're the project scientists (and we're learning as we go along). We have no dedicated admins.

This is our project and is doing our science. So we have a vested interest in making it work the best we can :-)

Thought I'd post some challenge info:

Looks like BOINC@AUSTRALIA is pulling away, but Sicituradastra. is not far behind. Here's a comparison chart from BOINCStats.com. Not sure if it will show teams but you can see at http://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/team/list/318/credits as well.

I am amazed at the credits per hour coming from single users. Check out the top 5. Top users are doing almost 20,000 per hour! I'm only doing 1000!

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/user/list/318/credits

Awesome! :)

Thanks Kevin, for both response and the soloution. As usually, you're on top of problems quickly, and on a long-weekend too. I dips me lid.

Cheers
