Thanks to all our processors and those involved in the Herschel Birthday Challenge going on at the moment, theSkyNet POGS peaked yesterday at 49.22 TFLOPS! Thank you everyone.

There's only 1 days, 0 hours and 31 minutes to go until the challenge ends so to help us break through 50 TFLOPS of processing power and set a new record for the project we've decided to offer a bit of an incentive. The greatest increase in RAC in the next 24 hours (from the time of this notice) will receive a thank you prize from us, delivered anywhere in the world. It'll include a baseball cap, T-Shirt, USB drive and some other little items. Help us reach 50 TFLOPS today!

Hey Guys,

I whipped together a quick page to track results of this challenge http://www.theskynet.org/profiles/boinc_challenge.
Currently tanos from Astronomy.Ru Forum is in the lead, with mtnbkrt20 from KWSN not far behind.

Cheers

Thanks Alex. Unfortunately mtnbkrt20 won't contribute to the challenge anymore since he is now in the non-BOINC team of KWSN. :(

Nice to see that I'm on rank #5 currently, could not have dreamed of it. I'm fully maxed out already, however. :)

Interesting story with mtnbkrt20. He actually created the original theSkyNet KWSN alliance, with no affiliation to KWSN!, I guess two people had the same great idea for Team/Alliance names.

We thought that change in RAC might give more chance to the people without massive amounts of computers a chance for a mini price.

Yep, fully agree. It's a great incentive and makes this challenge even more interesting, also for those who could not join at BOINCstats.

Well, if mtnbkrt20 joined and left KWSN POGS the last days on purpose, then that's alright with me (of course *g*). Just hope that wasn't a mistake. I also joined KWSN w/o POGS by mistake, then jumped into the BOINC team where I wanted to go in the first place. :)

Now, let's enjoy the final hours and watch the flops rise.

Well, server status page says 49,992 GFLOPS (that's 49.992 in continental Europe) now. :)

??? just to clarify that point ???
Well, yes and no... mtnbkrt20 started an alliance at the beginning of your project that many, including myself were duped into joining by the similarity of the name. BUT, The Knights Who Say Ni! TEAM were founded quite some years before theSkyNet project ever started, and it's members have contributed massive amounts of their hard earned income to support distributive computing projects like yours.
They are/were so original and such giving volunteers that many wanted to copy their success. The name has been abused and copied (with omissions like "The" and "!") many times in many different programs.
NONE of these teams are a part of The Knights Who Say Ni!, who's forum is, and has been The Orbiting Fortress @ http://www.kwsnforum.com/
If the name is not complete and the forum is not the same... then it is not the same team. It doesn't matter whether you call it an alliance or an elderberry bush. That's just all subterfuge.
The truth is more interesting than stories.

Excellent support of this BOINC challenge, btw.
Thanks for taking an interest.
Ni!
JJ

Apologies JJ I meant to imply the the alliance created by mtnbkrt20 had no affiliation with kwsnforum, and that it was just a coincidence of choosing a similar name.

Additionally congratulations guys and thanks to everyone who helped us crack the 50T FLOPS barrier, where to next?

I might suggest: beat the 60T floating point operations per second mark, with your very own, "in house" Team&Alliance SkyNet Intergalactic Challenge.

Just a thought.
Thanks again for supporting this team BOINC challenge so wholeheartedly.

Congrats! Having run full bore for the last week, my RAC has somewhat stabilized at a level that's growing less steeply. Just wish tanos had been participating during the entire challenge, like I was. We would have hit 50 TFLOPS much earlier then. :)

Here's to breaking records during the next Challenge as well. :D

Hello Count Cuckoo,

If you joined original KWSN to stay with us, feel free to join KWSN Orbiting Fortress and to say NI! to the fellow kaNI!ghts :-)

Just beware of killer rabbits and llamas.

In case of troubles with sign-up process, do not hesitate to send me a private message here on theSkyNet POGS :-)

Cheers, NI!
