We have the beta test server running. If people are willing to help test stuff (without receiving credit - Sam is working on the new credit model) connect to.

http://pogsbeta.theskynet.org/pogsbeta

It has 17 filter bands (GALEX, Pan-STARRS, SDSS, WISE, Herschel, Spizter) and new wrappers and new Android. I need to make sure the amount of disk I allow is enough for the new models.

Unfortunately the server will be shutdown once the testing is complete; so you won't get any credits for helping (sorry), but you will get my thanks.

I've just have connected 17 Android devices and 3 Windows notebooks to the test project successfully, but only the windows devices get work units to test. Are tests on Androids restricted to Lollipop (Android version 5.nnn)? Most Androids devices (also those currently to buy) still use version 4 (Jelly Bean to KitKat) and won't upgrade to Lollipop

OK. Three boxes doing BETA work:
1 Vista Home 32 bit
1 Linux 64
1 Win 8.1 64

BTW, I hope admins are monitoring the BETA Message Boards. There are a couple of questions over there about Android devices.

Connected a dedicated quad-socket R820 [E5-4640 at 2.4Ghz, no hyper-threading] to this beta a little less than two hours ago. Will say these beta WUs seem to be big! BOINC initially suggested nearly 14 hours at WU start; now just under 60% complete, 1h:53m elapsed and supposedly 5h:40m remaining. Pity there won't be any credit / badge recognition! Never the less, hopefully this will provide some useful data.

Thankfully the initial numbers lied big time. ;)

Here are the results for the first 16 WUs; in seconds of course.

Run Time CPU Time Min 11,189 11,071 Max 12,126 11,995 Avg 11,783 11,682

So a rough average of 195M/WU thus far.
